How to make a UPI QR code
- 1Enter your UPI ID (VPA) in the form yourname@okhdfcbank — a name, then @, then the handle of your bank or UPI app
- 2Read it back character by character before you continue: we validate the format only, never who owns the ID, and a static payment code cannot be edited after it is printed
- 3Optionally add a payee name, a suggested amount in rupees (digits with up to two decimals, no rupee sign and no commas) and a note such as Invoice 114 — the payer can still edit the amount in their app
- 4Set your colors and add a logo in the QR Design step, keeping strong dark-on-light contrast so the code reads off a printed card
- 5Open the scanner inside your own UPI app, scan the preview on screen, confirm the recipient it shows is your account, then cancel without paying
- 6Download as PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF, choosing SVG or PDF for counter cards and signage so the code stays sharp at any print size

Is my UPI ID sent to Qravio when I use this tool?
No. The code is built entirely in your browser, so the UPI ID, name, amount, and note you type never leave your device and we never store them. That also means there is nothing here for us to count: a UPI code made on this page reports no scans, because a scan goes straight from the payer’s app to their bank without passing through us.
Why is the generator rejecting my UPI ID?
A UPI ID has to be a name made of letters, digits, dots, underscores or hyphens, then a single @, then a bank or app handle — yourname@okhdfcbank is the shape. Spaces, a second @, a rupee sign, or a pasted https:// link will all be refused. We refuse them rather than quietly cleaning them up, because a payment code is printed and cannot be corrected afterwards, so a silent fix could hide a genuine typo. Note the limit of this check too: it confirms the format, never who the ID belongs to.
How should I type the amount, and will the payer be able to change it?
Enter digits with at most two decimals — 250 or 250.50 — with no rupee symbol, no commas, and no currency word; 1,000 and ₹250 are not valid UPI amounts. Leave the field empty and the payer simply types whatever they are paying. Whatever you enter arrives as a suggestion on their send screen, and every UPI app lets them edit it before confirming, so use it to save them typing rather than to control the figure.
How do I test the code before a print run?
Open the scanner inside your own UPI app — not the phone camera, which often ignores a upi: link — and scan the preview on screen. Check the recipient the app resolves is your account and that the amount and note look right, then cancel without paying. Do this before you print anything, because the UPI ID is baked into the pattern and a reprint is the only way to change it.
What file format and print size should I use?
Export as PNG, JPG, vector SVG, or print-ready PDF, and pick SVG or PDF for a counter card, standee, or shop sign so the code stays sharp at any size. Print it at least 3 cm wide, leave a clear white margin around it, and avoid printing over a photo or a dark background, since a payment code that will not scan at the till costs you the sale.
Is it free, and does Qravio take a cut of the payment?
The generator is free with no account, no watermark, no expiry, and no scan limit, and you may use the code commercially. Qravio takes no cut and no fee, because we are not part of the payment at all: the money moves between the payer’s app and the bank account behind your UPI ID. We only compose the link and draw the code.
