QR code scanner FAQ

How do I scan a QR code online?

Open this page, choose Camera and allow camera access, then point your device at the QR code — it decodes instantly and shows you the link or text. No camera? Switch to Upload image and drop a screenshot or photo of the code. Everything runs in your browser.

Can I scan a barcode too, not just QR codes?

Yes. The scanner reads standard 1D barcodes — including EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128 and Code 39 — as well as QR codes. Point the camera at the barcode or upload a clear photo of it.

Is it safe to scan a QR code here?

Scanning happens entirely on your device. The image is decoded locally in your browser and is never uploaded to a server. We then show you the exact link or text so you can check where it goes before opening anything.

Do you store my images or the codes I scan?

No. Images are decoded in your browser and discarded immediately. We do not upload, log, or store the pictures you scan or the results.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static QR code has its destination baked in — to change it you must reprint it. A dynamic QR code, which you can create free with Qravio, points to a short link you can edit anytime after printing, and it records analytics for every scan.

Scanning is nice. Owning the code is better.
